Drumbain Croft provides excellent , modern
and comfortable accommodation. There is so much to do and see in our
corner of Scotland, it is difficult to know where to begin, but here
goes ... |
The famous Malt Whisky Trail is right on the cottage
doorstep with the first Malt Distillery a mere 2 miles away in Rothes
town. The malt whisky
trail gives you an opportunity to discover the best that Scotland has
to offer - Highland scenery, a stunningly beautiful coast line and attractive
towns and villages. You can visit the seven distilleries and cooperage
on the Malt Whisky Trail, the Cashmere visitor centre, craft centres,
castles
and gardens and Baxters of Speyside. |
For walkers, the Speyside Way is just
a few miles away from the cottage. This is one of Scotland's 4 long distance
footpaths and takes
about a week to complete (or less if you are fit!). Sections of the route
are open to horses and cyclists. Alternatively, take a drive along the
A95 to the Cairngorms, where you can find a large number of the highest
peaks in the UK.
The Highland capital of
Inverness is only about 50 minutes drive making it
a worthwhile day trip. Here you can swim at the Leisure Centre
pool with
its
flumes
and leisure
waters, sample the Gaelic culture at pub ceilidhs, the Highland Festival,
theatre and other arts, Hogmanay and more. South of Inverness you can
visit Loch Ness and experience the dramatic scenery of the Great
Glen.
Scotland is a mecca for birdwatching, spot Ptarmigan in the Cairngorms,
Ospreys at Loch Garten, Divers on the lakes or head to one of the coasts
to watch a variety of seabirds and wild fowl.
The area is rich in historical sites such as the unique recumbent stone
circles (like Loanhead of Daviot), the battlefield of Culloden and
plenty
of castles. But why not come and stay to find out the rest for yourself?
Below is a slide show of photographs to whet your appetite for our
